When I began my walk today, the morning was bright,
the sun so brilliant my eyes ached.
No more than a few hundred yards along, fog wafted in like
a worn gray picnic blanket settling on the emerald grass.
The fading dogwood blossoms glowed
It lasted only a few minutes, but long enough to gentle my roiling mind.
I continued walking, lightened,
as the fog lifted and sunlight returned.
